Alisha Wimberly, NTP
Nutritionist
Alisha’s interest in nutrition sparked with her own food sensitivities. Although doctors were unable to help her with her symptoms she soon started working on her nutrition and discovered how to optimize health through the everyday practice of eating nutritionally. Alisha utilizes many tools in assessing individuals- food journals, family history, online questionnaires, and functional testing. Using points on the body (much like an acupuncturist does) she assesses potential nutrition deficiencies in the body. Then, functionally tests nutrients on these points to find the body’s balanced state. Supplements are only recommended to help re-balance and then removed from the protocol.
Alisha graduated from the University of Oregon with a BS in Psychology and wrote her thesis on a research project she conducted, which combined her two interests of psychology and nutrition. Although nutrition is her main focus, she acknowledges the connection of mind and body and how everyday stressors can significantly influence digestion and overall health.
